Our Idiot Brother Review

Paul Rudd takes on the screen as ned.
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD3inbpAKyYJl5hKnjSjA0_jFOR9061fE-CYrWaeN7R1WDMA9tjJmzvt-1DfQ48mJo7RSwLylxSS145_vrnEl6VFJ6mJPjplDrxv-rzl-CtC4yfb-hBFJBBYBHbHukR4dL8GOXylnv_ROj/s1600/My+Idiot+Brother+Movie+%25284%2529.jpg

The movie is basically about a man, named Ned. He isn't really the smartest guy in the world, but he cares. One day when he sells drugs to a police officer, he goes to jail. When he finally gets out of jail, he has no where to go, seeking somewhere to stay, he stays with 3 of his sisters, and goes through many bumps in the road.

Having big stars like Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Emily Mortimer and Zooey Deschanel, plus the creaters of the hit comedy Little Miss Sunshine, yes thats where this movie seems familiar from, same style of movie, you would expect this to be cheesy, but it isen't.

First of all, even though this might not sound that bad, in between the sweetness, there is lots and lots of F words, meaning different things, there is also nudity, but no full parts are shown.

I enjoyed the acting from this movie, Paul Rudd plays Ned really well and really shows us lots about Neds personality, also the actresses who played the sisters all played really different characters, but played them well.

This is definatly not a movie like the Hangover, in between all the dirty jokes, there is a lesson, a lesson that is visiable to everyone who watches. See the world with open eyes and that trust is key to anything.

Our Idiot Brother bears many resembles to "Little Miss Sunshine" , there is lots of family involved and family problems, it also looks at the positive side of things. Overall, Our Idiot Brother is a great movie to watch, I left the theatre smiling. B

The Hunger Games VMA Presentation

As you probably know, I am a huge fan of THE HUNGER GAMES, so I watched the presentation on the VMAS. Here it is!

What do you think? Lots of people are saying that her face is too clean, but maybe it is just mixed footage of her in the forest, or this is just created for this teaser. She could've just gotten into the arena. This just makes me more excited for the movie in March!!

No More Refills- Are you kidding me?

Cineplex has announced that they will no longer do large drink or popcorn refills. But the prices will stay the same, the large popcorn still going around $6-$7 and the large drink still remaining at its original price.
The popcorns remain the same size, but the amount gets lowered.
http://www.sld.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/cinepopcorn-news.jpg

I have no idea why they did this, but I have a few guesses. The average tub of popcorn has a value of 2 cents, but is sold for $4- $7. Maybe they wanted to make more profit.http://www.thestar.com/article/268992

I know movie popcorn is bad for you, but seriously? I don't think they took away the refills because of that.
I have heard that some people would bring the same bag in each time, to get a refill each time, which got cineplex upset. My question is, since each refill has the value of approximately 2 cents, how many refills would it take to get their money's worth? A lot.

Now, next time I think about getting a large to share with my friends or family, I will think again. Maybe it isn't worth it anymore.

Lemonade Mouth Movie Review

This is a little late, considering the movie came out a while ago, but I just thought I would review it.

Lemonade Mouth is based on the book by Peter Hughes, it is a movie about a group of very different people. One day Olivia (Brigit Melder), Wen (Adam Hicks),Stella (Hayley Kayoko), Mo (Miami Scott) and Charlie (Blake Mitchael) all meet one day in the least likely place- detention. They then begin expressing the one thing they have in common- music. After they discover that they make a pretty good band. The main idea is that it doesen't matter if your popular or not, everyone can make a difference.

Even though this was a classic disney channel musicial, it has something to it, something that High School Musical diden't have, it had a certain type of friendship feeling to it, maybe it focused more on the friendship than the romance, which I prefer.

I have to say for a disney movie, the acting was really well done. Brigit Melder has always been a good actress and she played the role really convinclingly. I am also surprised with Adam Hicks, who plays in Zeke and Luther. He really stepped up to play this role, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The only thing I am confused with is that there are still knots untied at the end, they introduced romance and then did nothing with the romance, which I find kind of pointless, why have it at all then?

Overall Lemonade Mouth is a good family movie, I would recommend it because of the story, the acting and the message! B

Teen Spirit Review

Teen Spirit is a movie trying to prove a point that was already proven, but trying to make it a twist for the modern audience, in a Mean Girls , sort of way. But this movie does not come to Mean Girl's status, and not even darn close to that. With Lindsey Shaw and Cassie Scerbo, two girls that made their big debuts on T.V shows such as Pretty Little Liars and 10 Things I Hate About You, there is a reason why this show stayed on the small screen.

Cassie Scerbo and Lindsey Shaw get all glammed up, to get one simple crown.
http://www.daemonstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/TEEN-SPIRIT-ABC-Family-18-550x366.jpg

The movie opens up with the popular girls, these girls are so unrealistic, in every way. No one will be able to relate to them at all, they are obsessing over some "Crown", then we see the unpopular girls, they are a little more relatable, but still, no. There is no personality to these characters, we don't see who they really are, its like we don't know anything about them. The popular girl, Amber then dies, like that. Why? Because she got electrified when trying to reach for her prom crown, they are trying to make this funny, but it really isn't, this girl is so stupid, and its sad. But as the movie goes on, we soon discover everyone is laughing over Ambers dead body. After, ambers spirit, is set on a task, for her not to go to hell, she has to make the unpopular girl, become popular and be the Prom Queen.

The script is simply awful, it is so predictable and really boring, and really lacks originality. The characters are really bland and are just the normal girls, nothing special. It seems like its trying to make us laugh, in awkward ways, that just cause more silence.

The acting isen't much better, Lindsey Shaw did a good performance, but I felt like I was missing a lot of points from her character, Cassie Serbo on the other hand, seemed like she was trying way too hard to play her character, it improved later on in the movie though, but it just seemed like she didn't see any personality in her character. The only thing that is good is their chemistry on the screen, the ending scene  with them was really well done, because they did show emotion.

Overall, this movie doesn't prove anything, its missing what Mean Girls had to make it a success, and its just doing the basic, Unpopular girl becomes popular, and stays that way, nothing special and totally missable. C-

Canada's Wonderlands Leviathan Announcement!

This morning at 7am was the big announcement from Canada's Wonderland, the announcement of a new ride. After Windseeker, I had a feeling this would happen. Windseeker was the ride released this year, and it wasn't a new favourite of the park, but Im sure that the people will welcome the Leviathan with open arms.

What the Roller Coaster the Leviathan will look like, its 80˙
drop beating its fellow coaster, Behemoth.
http://leviathan.canadaswonderland.com/_upload/galleries/ride_renderings/leviathan1.jpg

Like the Behemoth, the Leviathan is a drop, no loop coaster, but unlike the behemoth, the leviathan features an 80˙ drop while behemoth has a drop at 75˙.The ride will also have a speed of 140km/hr, while the Behemoth had a speed of 125km/hr.The track will measure out to a length of 5,486 feet long, beating Behemoth's of 5,318 feet long.

Personally, I am excited for this ride because it will be like an upgrade from the Behemoth, everything about the Behemoth is amazing, but this will add the excitement to the heights and dropping! I was wondering where this ride would be built, but clearly Wonderland has room for it!!

Are you excited for the Leviathan or do you think that they should've come up with something more original then sticking with the original idea of the Behemoth? Are you going to be first in line to get on this ride? Please comment!!!

Winter's Bone Review

Just recently I decided to rent Winter's Bone , I wanted to see what was in this movie, the movie that won the sundance film festival.
Jennifer Lawrence plays an Oscar worthy role in Winter's Bone

Winter's Bone is a movie about a girl, played by Jennifer Lawrence who discovers that she needs to find her drug-dealing father and she then goes through social terrain to do it.

This movie had incredible acting, every actor& actress who played in this movie did a phenomenal job. Jennifer Lawrence did an incredible job, which is why Hunger Games fans should not be disappointed in this decision, she plays a very similar character to Katniss in the Hunger Games and she is amazing playing her, don't worry fans.

Another thing about this movie is that the plot was unpredictable, I didn't see anything coming before it happened. This movie was a perfect nominee for the oscars, not for the obvious reasons.

Overall this was a great movie, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes this sort of movie, some people won't be able to follow it, but im sure they would still be able to enjoy it. Ether way, Winter's Bone is a film masterpiece.

Blue Mountain Ridge Runner Ride- Review

Part of the ridge runner track in Blue Mountain.
http://www.bluemountain.ca/images/Aug%2025%20coaster.jpg
The Ridge Runner is Blue Mountain's first coaster, its an exciting mountain coaster, taking people all around the hill for over a kilometre, with speeds up to 42km/hr! The best thing about it is its open year round, so we can go on in the snow!

When I went on it, there wasn't much of a line up, so I got on pretty fast. I sat in this blue seat, that was surprisingly, quite comfortable. It had one seatbelt on it which buckles across the check and another for the legs, but it was optional.

There was also a lever, to pull away from you to speed up, and to pull close to you to break, on the way up, we weren't supposed to touch it, but I thought we had to hold it, anyway, nothing bad will happen if you hold it, just don't brake it!

Anyway, you go uphill for about 5 minutes and then we pull down the lever and .... whoosh! We whizz downhill! The ride isen't that fast, but thats good because we can see the forest and the mountain, but there are lots of turns!!

At the end, we have to slow down, I was at full speed so I had to do a big brake at the end, I advise all of you guys who are going to go on it to attempt to go SLOWLY, when you see the signs that say, go slow!

I loved this ride, it wasn't so short, and it was nice and relaxing to see the mountain, its no thrill ride for ride seekers, or people that ride huge roller coasters, but you will still enjoy it because you can control the speed of the ride!

Crazy, Stupid, Love Review

Crazy, Stupid, Love, a movie that I didn't know what to expect from, a cheesy comedy or a heartfelt laugh? With stars Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, Kevin Bacon & Emma Stone, the movie sold lots of tickets for these big stars, and seeing this movie, was worth every penny.

The movie revolving around a man, Cal who had a perfect life- until his wife asks for a divorce. Spending nights alone at a bar, getting drunk he meets Jacob who helps him discover and find his "Manhood" and to start getting other woman into his life. A lot more goes on in the movie then that, but that is the main part of the movie.

In this movie, the acting was really well done, I really liked all the stars in this movie because it seemed like they put a lot of emotion into the acting, and made their characters believable. Steve Carrell did a great performance and was really funny, along with Julianne Moore even in the saddest of scenes. Emma Stone, who did an awesome performance in Easy A, did a great performance in this movie with Ryan Gosling & Kevin Bacon was funny as well.

I also enjoyed the camerawork in this film, I really liked the way that the backgrounds were really fuzzy, the camera would focus on the character, and fuzz out the background really well. This is an element that made this movie unique and different compared to other comedy movies out in the theatres.

Another thing is that the movie was really funny, there were parts when I was laughing, not just smiling like I did in Hop, or other supposed comedy movies. Kids can understand some jokes in this movie as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and I would watch it again. I would reccommend this to anyone looking for a good movie, it beats Horrible Bosses by far comedy wise and manages to make the movie funny- but not dirty, something not much movies can do these days. A-

You Again- Review

Last night I decided to watch the movie You Again , while lying on the couch. Being board.
The movie You Again is a movie about a girl, who went through a lot of bullying in High School, especially from this girl named JJ . She becomes very successful in the future, but then she discovers that her brother is marrying JJ!

I am sure lots of people or girls can relate to this type of movies, majority of schools have that one girl , that lives to make others miserable and none of us would want this person marrying their brothers.

Although this is a romantic comedy, I don't see much of ethier. It had its few laughs, but practically no romance. Also I could see everything coming and knew how the film was going to end so it really wasn't that special.

The acting was decent, with the all star cast including Kristen Bell & Betty White, it sure made it better then it could've been.

Another thing that I liked about this movie was the revenge factor, I mean I was rooting Bells character the whole movie with her revenge on JJ, the movie seemed to say that you should put it behind you, but if this girl ruined her life, shouldn't there be some justice?

Overall this movie is for fans of heartfelt, laughs. Otherwise, choose another movie. C-

Rise Of The Planets Of The Apes Review

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, the highly anticipated prequel to the famous "Planet Of The Apes" series, was sure to be a major blockbuster and money grabber.. But was it really worth it? My answer: Yes, for sure yes!

With a star studded cast including James Franco (127 Hours) , Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) & The Famous Tom Felton (Harry Potter), this movie proved to have more than visual effects up its sleeve. The acting was really well done, it really seemed real, considering the apes were all animation.

Tom Felton... Who plays Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter did a fairly good job, although he did play a similar or almost identicial person as Draco Malfoy, only those fans would be able to point out the differences (Including me).

The visual effects- oh the visual effects, they were incredible, it is from the team that did Avatar, the apes looked SO real and at some points were frightening as well. This would've been great in 3D because at some points it seems like some things are popping out at you!

Another thing, the scenery. I loved it when they showed the shots in the park and of the apes climbing the trees, that was really cool.

The best thing this movie did, it made you see the world though the Apes eyes, it made you see the world through human eyes. The movie didn't take a side, it made you choose to take a side, with the humans or the apes, not much movies can do that and I can say that this one did that successfully.

Overall this is a great film, not just for fans of the previous series, but for people looking to find a good movie, especially one with good action. This prequel is sure to be one that can't miss. B+

Flipped Movie Review

Today I decided I would watch the movie “Flipped” , I chose to watch this movie because I read part of the book before I had to return it and I thought it had a really cool idea.

To start, the movie is about a girl, Julie and a boy Bryce. Julie met Bryce when he moved to town and she started to like him, so much that even he knew- and it  is annoying him. Growing up into 8th grade, things start to get complicated....
First of all- I diden’t watch it because of the romance, I don’t really like romance. I watched it because of the idea, we hear Bryce talk about what happenned that day in his point of view, then it is switched to Julies point of view of the same event. I generally think that is really cool, because we get to see both of their point of views, which can be like telling two different stories really.
I have to say, the plot really wasen’t original , except for the point of view of the different people. I really thought that girl likes boy thing has been done a lot of times, but the author gave it a little twist, which made it a really cool movie.
Another thing, from the different point of views, things seem to happen really conditionally between them, thats very unlikely, (eg when Julie thinks about how she should clean up her yard, Bryce tells her that her yard looks like crap).
I did enjoy the photography & lighting in this movie, I thought it was personally really cool and that it really helped us feel the story in a way that words coulden’t.
Overall this is a good movie, I would give it a thumbs up and I would rate it THUMBS UP!

The Adjustment Bureau Review

Last night I watched the movie "The Adjustment Bureau". Here is my review:

The movie "The Adjustment Bureau" is a movie with a cool new concept: People controlling your life, and your fate. The movie starts with a man (Matt Damon) who is in politics, one day he meets a woman (Emily Blunt) who he runs into the next day, then he discovers that he wasen't supposed to see her again. Following him, mysterious forces try to separate them as he makes his way to find her again. Get the plot on imdb here.

The Adjustment Bureau kept me hooked, I literally couldn't stop watching. The acting was well done, as Matt Damon and Emily Blunt delivered solid performances, and the whole concept was mind blowing and stayed in your mind afterwords.

It was a very original plot and I guess that in the future more movies will come out with a similar concept as this film. The script was well done and I was very impressed, although it was pretty romantic, but not to the extreme.

The music was good, but I have to highlight the strongest point in the film: The script. The script was what brang it all together into a great film! I wish I would've watched it in theatres because it would've been way cooler then renting it and I would've felt more of the action!

Overall I would recommend this movie to anyone wanting a good movie, its great for kids as well and they will understand it too!! A-

Scream Movie Review

This morning I decided to watch Scream. Yeah, I have never watched Scream before. Here is my review.

Scream is a slasher film about a girl (Sydney) who seems to be targeted by a killer, ghost face. There is lots of killing and blood, but it still wasn't "Scary", just frightening and things pop out at you!

What I have to say about this movie is that it isen't just horror, its more horror with dark comedy and mystery. Throughout the movie we are guessing who this ghost face killer is and the motifs for the killer.

The music in the movie was like typical horror movie music, and did give some of the fear into the movie.

The movie was unpredictable, suspenseful and I had no idea who the killer was!!!Overall this movie is a good movie for scary movie fans and people who like the whole "Pop out at you" aspect in movies, but in this movie everything is taken too lightly, the deaths and the murders are talked about amoung the characters like they are ordering pizza. It's just unreal. . B-

Hold On 'Til the Night Greyson Chance Album Review

Today at 12:00 in the morning, Greyson Chance released his debut album: Hold on till the night- and I fell asleep, so when I woke up at 8:40, I bought the album instantly from itunes! This album is a mixture of pop and alternative, but classified as pop on itunes. Even though Greyson Chance is a 13 year old, this album will be sure not to disappoint.

The only complaint I have is that his songs light up the dark, stars and broken hearts are not on this album, I was hoping they would be featured, but saying that the songs that were on the albums were really good and they gave me a break from all this mainstream pop.

1. Waiting Outside The Lines: This was Greyson's debut single, and as soon as I heard it I fell in love with his music. This actually has meaning, live your life to the fullust. Don't look down on tomorrow, just do what you want now. Follow your dreams.

2. Unfriend You: His second single, this song is basically about Facebook, he is going to go on Facebook and "Unfriend" the girl he is talking about because she is a liar! His voice really is shown off in this song!

3. Home Is In Your Eyes: This song is really beautiful, and sad. This shows Greyson missing someone from home. Its a really nice melody.

4. Hold On Till The Night: This song is the strong, energetic song on this record. Greyson even said that it was made to tell his fans to not be afraid.

5. Heart Like Stone: This song is saying that his heart feels is stone because he is hurt. He is trying to keep himself from getting hurt. The tune is really original.

6. Little London Girl: This song is about him meeting someone, a girl in London. This girl is all rock and roll. This song is really upbeat, energetic, light and fun! Its one of my favourites on this album!

7. Cheyenne : This song is very soulful and slow. He is asking a girl , Cheyenne not to break up with him because he loves her. I don't like the slow beat on this song, but im sure soul music lovers will.

8. Summertrain: This is my favourite song on the album, it is so easygoing and relexing, it makes me forget my worries and just relex. Its a really awesome song!

9. Stranded: The sound is very interesting on this song, he wants to be "stranded" on an island with the girl. It's very fun and catchy!

8. Look at me now: This song is really cool, one of my other favourites. It is telling people how he has changed and those who never believed in him, look at him now! He came up with a pretty awesome album! This song means a lot to me because it is inspiring to anyone who wants to be something, or do something. You have to start small, and dream big!!

9. Slipping Away: This is about someone slipping away from him, he is trying to get his grasp on the girl, but she keeps slipping away, a little more every day. This is a great song!

Overall, I will give Hold On Till The Night an 8.5/10 , this album was an awesome album and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have an album with a variety of different styles of songs! We are so proud of you Greyson!

Cowboys & Aliens movie review

Today I saw the movie Cowboys & Aliens. The movie is basically about 2 things: Cowboys and Aliens. When I saw the trailer when seeing Harry Potter p1, I had to see this movie, and I was anticipating it for the next 8 months! When this film was discussed people were saying things like "Cowboys and Aliens! They don't belong together!". But this film proved that they can be together successfully!

The movie was executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the master director. But just because he executive produced it, doesn't mean it is really Speilberg. This is more of a action western.

The music is the movie was good, but didn't convey a lot of emotion. The camera angles were O.K , but I think that they could have been done better.

The thing I would complain about is its originally, the idea is original, but what happens is more of a been-there-done-that sorta thing, I have seen stuff like this before.

On the positive side- the special effects were really well done. The Aliens were very well- creepy but not too much to scare you. The ships and lighting was done very well and it really helped with the development of the story.

Overall Cowboys & Aliens is a must see for western fans, but the only thing keeping the movie elements up is the originally of the basic idea: Cowboys & Aliens. B-

Webs, come on!

My photography portfolio won't connect to webs.com! webs.com isen't even accessible!! Sorry no posting for awhile on my portfolio. Ill try to make a new one :)!!!

All Things Bright And Beautiful Track by track review.

Is there a better way to welcome summer then listen to fresh, crisp, easy, natural music? I don't think so. I love Owl City, you probably know from some of my other entries, but every day, and I mean every day, I have been listening to the new album "All things bright and beautiful" and pondering over the lyrics and enjoying summer. Here is a track by track review. Its My interpation of the CD.

1. The Real World: Opening to the album, we get a demo of the type of music Adam creates. He shows his passion for living in another world, and the fact that reality is not the right place for him.
"Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there"

2. Deer In The Headlights: This song is about trying to force yourself into love, you can't force yourself into loving someone, you have to fall for them, not love them for the sake of loving them. Add an upbeat catchy tune and Owl City and you've got a perfect hit song!
"Your the deer in the headlights"

3. Angels: This is a perfect story song! I think it comes to love in some way, but it is basically about other magical beings in our world, we live so close to the ground but what else is there?
"Wake me if your out there!"

4. Dreams Don't Turn To Dust: Such a magical feeling. Dreams don't go away, they don't turn to dust they will always stay with you.
" Id rather be alone"

5. Honey And The Bee: One of my favourite songs, it is like a 2 side song, one with the girl and one with the boy. Just listen, its awesome.
" If I reached for your hand.. Would your eyes get wide?"

6. Kamikize: This song is so catchy and it seems like a different style of music for Owl City to sing.
"Oh comet, come down!"

7.January 28, 1986: This is like an intermission for the whole CD, according to Owl City is is a pre- song to the song galaxies to set up the theme.

8. Galexies: This is catchy and really exciting!
"Dear god I was terribly lost when the galaxies crossed"

9. I think this song is s about the fact that you can't look at everything badly. The person in this song was in the worst car crash of the century, but they think that it makes them feel better and gave them a new sense of sight and that happiness returned to them.
" Happiness returned to me in a grave emergency"

10. Alligator Sky (Ft Shawn Christopher): This song is random, but I think it means that you can't expect things to happen. Owl City says that it is unexpected, so you can wake up and seize the day because life is unexpected!

11. The Yacht Club: This is a different style for Owl CIty, in this song he collaborates with the Canadian singer, LIGHTS. I think the meaning is that we wish that our bad days could disappear forever so we can live our life to the fullest.
" I wish that we could sail our sad days away.. forever in deep blue shades of paper macheé"

12. This song opens up with sorrow, but then gets exciting. I think he means that he wishes that plant life would come close to him, so he doesn't feel dead because he feels dead. He really needs a friend because without one, he feels very dead.
" I've been longing for daises to push through the floor"

13. How I became the sea: This song is like a story , I think its the slowest song on the album. It just very story like.

14. Alligator Sky : this is the no-rap version, I prefer it to  the rap version. Adam adds his own melody in between the rhythm.

Overall I would give this album a 9.5/10 , this is amazing and i have been listening for it for more then one month straight and I didn't get sick of it! Owl City really made his best album yet!

Captain America: The First Avenger Review

Captain America: The First Avenger started out as a movie I didn't want to see. Why? Because of the fact that we are being overloaded with movies, and this just wasn't my top pick. Okay, I had no idea who Captain America was and kept on whispering to my friend what was going on throughout the trailer. Anyway, my mom still decided to take my brother and I to see this movie.

This movie covers the story of a skinny, weak man, Roger who wants to join the army. He gets chosen not because his strength, but because of his personality to go into this lab where they inject a serum into his body. Then he becomes all strong and awesome. He is Captain America!

I have to say, Chris Evans delivered a solid performance playing this character. I noticed that even after he became "Captain America" , he still had the personality of when he was all weak, which was really important in the movie because he "Stayed the same man".

The camera angles were good during the action in the film and the costumes were really well done.

The plot had some romance-not much and some little bits of comedy, which kept me entertained. What I have to say, it ended in a bit of a cliffhanger- I won't reveal anything but I will say that another movie will be coming out in May. A sequel with the one and only- Iron Man!

Overall it was a good movie, great for superhero fans and fans of major action, but not great for people who preferred movies like X-Men: First Class. B

Cyberbully Movie Review

The Movie "Cyberbully" was a movie that aired on ABC family this summer, it basiclly was about a girl, named Taylor who got harassed online on a social networking site after she got a new laptop for her birthday. It then started going downhill as the bullying increased and she was being turned against by her friends.

Personally I thought that this movie was made in order to communicate the message that cyberbullying is a serious matter, and even though you are not seeing it you are hurting someone worse then you will ever think because now you can be bullied at home as well as school.

I thought that the story was a little bland, but it was a T.V movie after all, but in my opinion, this main person knew nothing on the basics of internet privacy. In order to have a social networking profile, you need to learn about privacy. On Facebook you can report abuse and block people so you don't see their bullying online. This girl took no precautions and when he friends tried to defend her and help her at the beginning, she chose some boy over them.

Emily Ostment did a good raw performance in this movie, she cried when she needed to cry and she tried to put herself into Taylor's shoes, which is important in acting.

Phoebe Prince, is an example of a cyberbully victim and she committed suicide by hanging herself. We shouldn't let people do this to themselves. It has to end. That was the message of the movie. Its gotten worse too, the cyberbullying. At my school people get cyberbullied and we aren't afraid to stand up to the bully's and tell them that it is wrong.

Overall Cyberbully had a good message, but it wasn't really the best plot and way to show that message. I was practically screaming at the girl because of her ditching her friends for a boy that was a bystander online. The girl was too foolish and didn't try to help herself at all, which wasn't that smart. C+

A Weekend At The Collingwood Elvis Festival

We all know Elvis, the "King" of rock. The one with so many hits that got everyone moving and grooving. There is a yearly festival, the biggest Elvis festival in the world, in Collingwood Ontario. Every year my family and I have attended, to see the Elvis's and most of all, the rides. This year was the same, but this time I brought my camera. And brang it... Everywhere.

Starting theres the Friday, I love the Friday! Usually this is when the real excitement begins at Elvis weekend! Theres the performances of the tribute Elvis's! This year the performances were simply amazing and there were so many young performers! I love the fact that the crowd is so big! Even though it is so big, you can hear the Elvis music from the other end of the street!

After that, well during its usually time to pick up some food from the vendors. The vendors! There are so many different types of food there! Not just food! Along the street, it is filled with Elvis shops, vendors with Elvis T-shirts, records - you name it! You can even find a varity of other stuff! Also the majority of the stores and restrants featured Elvis theming- even Tim Hortons made an Elvis cookie for $1, where the proceeds go to chairty!

The next day was Saturday- because of the baking heat , we diden’t go into the “Tent”, which is where we see some live performances. We did however, go to some rides, and see a live performance there, near the museum. These live performances were amazing , some were even done by a 9 year old boy!!

As the day whizzed by, we went to a restaurant, listened to live performances, went to vendors, went to rides and did more. My parents even saw a live concert music thing on the Sunday and they said that it was really good!

Newscasts estimate that the town earned millions of dollars from the Elvis weekend, I don't deny it. Elvis Weekend is a must-go to for anyone wanting to have an awesome rockin weekend!

Harry Potter Movies through the years and reviews!

After I saw the FANTASTIC last Harry Potter film, I decided to go to my hogwarts trunk and get the movies 1-6 to watch those. Here are some opinions (Before I tell you them, please note that I am a huge potter fan):

Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone

This movie was a great introduction to the wizarding world. It had perfect music, excellent props and wonderful sets. Chris Columbus did amazing directing and really brang out the magic in the Wizarding World. A

Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets

This movie was also directed by Chris Columbus, it had a really similar style like the first movie. The thing I like about Chris Columbus was that he made you smile, you were happy more in this movie & the first then in any of the other films. A

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This is when Chris Columbus droppped out of making the Potter films. Then we had a new director ,Alfonso Cuarón. This style was similiar to the first movie and second with few changes. The magic still remained in Hogwarts. It stayed true to the book, which was important! A

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I have to say, this new director should have been directing the rest of the movies, in my opinion. He did the the movie perfectly, a didn't miss too much details from the books. Mike Newell directed, the same director that did prince of persia. This movie had excellent music and camera angles, also a meaningful plot. The best. A+

Harry Potter and the order of the phenix

This is when David Yates started directing the Potters, I found this movie kind of boring and bland, maybe because Quidditch was taken out of this project. I was disappointed in this film, but it still delivered. B+

Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince

This film was the most disappointing of the Harry Potters, some of the most important elements in the book were taken out, and new unnecessary elements were put in.The movie turned too much to the romance and took out what we really needed, the actual discovery. Also something that happened messed up an element for the later films. (Ginny hiding book). B

Overall Harry Potter movies are amazing! I am not rating any of these movies badly, I still watch them, but they were a disappointment for me.

The Hunger Games Poster Has Been Revealed!!

Yesterday on Yahoo! movies, they revaled something very important. The new poster for the Hunger Games movie! Here it is!!!

You probably noticed that it had the "Mockingjay pin" on it. It looks like the cover of the first book a bit, but it has the fire on it. It also says the phrase from the Hunger Games "May the odds be ever in your favour"

This is the first poster and it shows no real people, so I would call it the "Teaser" poster. It released after Harry Potter came out, so its getting people excited. The website for the movie also opened, thehungergamesmovie.com so you can check out the poster and download a countdown to the movie for your website!! What are your thoughts on the poster? Do you like the casting for the Hunger Games? Comment Below!! I love to hear your opinions!!

Rebecca Black- My moment

Today was the day- that most people dreaded and were excited for. Today is the day when Rebecca Black released her new song & music video "My moment" on youtube. Ever since she created her youtube channel, she has promised that she would release her new song on it, so when she announced on her twitter account that it was premiering on youtube, the youtube server crashed because so many people tried to access the video.

So what do I think of "My moment" ? I think that it is generally like any other song, it shouldn't be hated like "Friday" was. Friday was repetitive and didn't have much meaning, it was just for fun. But "My moment" actually says something from Rebecca's point of view. Her "Moment" in the fame and spotlight.

What I like is that she is thinking positive. She is one of the most hated people on youtube, but she still loves the life she had. This is amazing for someone like her. She is thinking positive, which is important.

I'm not saying you should go out and buy it on itunes at 12 tomorrow, but im saying that we shouldn't be hating it. There is nothing super bad about it and there are plenty of songs worse. If you really want to be a good person, go on youtube and give it a thumbs up. Rebecca Black worked hard to make a song that wasn't like Friday, a song for her audience and we should be thanking her for that. B-

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 Review!!

At last! When the first part ended I thought the world was over. Literally. I had to see more. These months dragged by. And then finally July 15th came around. I saw the movie 2 days later, only listening to Harry Potter Wizard Rock music. Anyway. Back on topic.

The movie was a continuation to the first Deathly Hallows- and also the EPIC finale. If you would've read the books, you would know whats coming, but if you haven't your in for a surprise.

The movie opens up with the previous scene- when Voldemort gets the Elder Wand- In 3D. I saw the movie in 3D and personally, it takes away from it. The 3D was very well done, it was like we were right there. But do we need it? When we first saw the movies, we were taken away, with no 3D. We used our own imaginations to bring the amazing magic of Harry Potter to us, not 3D. Now 3D is doing all the work, I prefer using my imagination because its a different experience, and an amazing one at that.

The music was so heartbreaking, from a Harry Potter fan, it really showed at the beginning the emotion in the film- that this was the last one. This music was called "Lilys Theme" and was truly spectacular. The whole soundtrack was really well done- probably one of the favourite soundtracks of the whole 8 movies. This and the first movie.

The camera- was nicely done. We could tell by the angles whenever he was seeing from Voldemort's eyes or in the pensive. We could tell the feelings of the people and I loved the fact that there was a variety of close up's which I thought to be really cool and add more effect to the film.

The movie was done well overall, it ended nicely and I left the theatre smiling, not crying. I am a crazy Potter fan, but this movie didn't make me cry. I don't know why, maybe it didn't use enough time to convey the emotion in the book.

This movie was probably one of best of the 8 films. It will be timeless and people will treasure it for years to come. Harry Potter had a good ending, that people looked at in wonder.  A

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now the story- If you don't want to hear too much about the movie STOP HERE! The story was changed a bit. I found that the HufflePuff cup- the cup that they destroyed at the beginning, was left out. In the book they show a rich history of the cup, about how it fell into Tom Riddles hands, but that was left out in the 6th movie, also some parts of the film from Voldemort's origins- his mom and dad, were left out in the movie. I was also disappointed in the feelings in some of the scenes , because when Hagrid Carried Harry, there wasn't that much emotion shown.

Sucker Punch Review

So since Sucker Punch just came out of DVD, I thought I should review it for people.

Sucker Punch is basically a movie about a girl named baby doll, who has an abusive stepfather, and is blamed for the death of her sister. According to the production notes, baby doll is 20 years old.

So the abusive father kills her sister and sends her away to a home for mental girls. There she meets some other girls. Together they try to escape, while babydoll uses her imagination to imagine the events that are happening in front of them, therefore going into her own world.

I have to say, the beginning of the film had me hooked. It was great use of music and angles. It explained her story without much words, which was really cool.

Also the use of camera angles was amazing. They really used many closeups which I thought to be really cool. The closeups on the hand on a door handle or eyes was really cool.

But later on in the film, I found myself wondering off. It was really like Deja-vu. All the events that happen are kind of like the same and it gets very-boring after a while. I personally diden't really like this film. I don't know.

Although I found the soundtrack to be amazing. The songs suited the mood of the film perfectly and Emily Brownings voice is amazing! it just suited the creepy & Intense feeling of the film.

Overall, the movie Sucker Punch is a good watch with a couple of friends. You will have fun watching it, but it just wasn't the best movie. if you like the directors previous movies like the movie 300, you will like this film. B-

The Skyscraper Buzz!

As you guys probably noticed, Demi Lovatos new single "Skyscraper" has been a MASSIVE hit. Her heartfelt vocals and ballads really broke through to peoples minds and hearts. On twitter, she became trending and in Itunes US she became #1, in Canada #4. This is amazing for her, and many celebrities like Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson & Selena Gomez have tweeted compliments to Demi Lovato about the amazing song that she sang.

Skyscraper is a song about her journey, from rehab and how she broke through. This is a single from her upcoming album. In my opinion, Skyscraper is a great song. She shows off her voice, which I have admired for a long time for its originality and unique sound to it. Demi Lovato is going to go big, really big.

So the video came up, and people were so excited. When I saw it, I liked it but I didn't understand it. I loved the mist and background that she stood behind. But I thought she would add something different, but I guess its just meant to be that way, to demonstrate clearness and her experiences.

What do you think of Skyscraper? Do you like her new style of music? Comment, Comment,Comment! I really would like to hear the opinions of some Lovatics!

Goodbye Lullaby- Track By Track Review

So Avril Lavignes new album came out a while ago and since the Canada Day deals on itunes I was able to complete my album for $3!!!! So I got her album and have been listening to it for the past week. Here is my track my track review:

1.Black Star: This is like a intro of her music. It was on her commercial for the perfume. But it really showcases her voice.

2.What The Hell: This was the song that she released first, her "Diva" single. It personally isn't my favourite. But its catchy and has the "Avril" style that she had in her song "Girlfriend".

3. Push: This is a good song. It is so much like Avril Lavigne. Telling them to shut up! It does swear a little.

4.Wish you were here: I love this song. I just love the melody and the beat. She is really conveying emition and saying that she misses someone and the way they are. People can really relate to this song.

5. Smile : I loved this song before it became a big hit! I just loved the melody! Also it has her style to it, but meaning. It has a good chorus, and combines different genres of music.

6. Stop Standing This: This is a perfect crush song. It is for the girl who just stands there. It has a hand clapping melody and I think will become a hit.

7. I love You: I love this message. You could like someones appearence: their smile, their vive, their style, their stardom, but in the end, thats not why you would love them. You would love them for being themselves.

8. Everybody Hurts: Another good message. Everybody feels pain. Everybody hurts and its O.K to be hurt. Its a really beautiful song.

9. Not Enough: This song is good. I diden't like it as much as some other ones. But it still is catchy.

10. 4 Real: I like this song!  It has a good memory behind. She feels 4 real. In love for real. Or 4 real

11. Darlin: My  favourite of the CD!! Its so catchy and has such a natural sound to it. It just makes me happy for some reason. I just love the guitar and her singing!

12. Remember When: Its a good song. Very slow. One of my friends claims she LOVES this song so much!! Its a good remembering song.

13. Goodbye: A good way to end the album. Talking about goodbyes. Good beat and good meaning

14. Alice (Bonus Track): She did so well in the Alice & Wonderland movie. Really well in the video. I like this song. It really suits the mood of the film.

To hear the songs on youtube go on this channel (the one of the video above) http://www.youtube.com/user/BeautifulMermaidBaby#p/u

What did you think of this CD? Your favourite song? Comment!!!

Horrible Bosses Review

Yesterday I saw the movie Horrible Bosses, here is my review for it:

So the movie Horrible Bosses is basically about 3 friends who have terrible, horrible, awful bosses. I mean- Really bad bosses. The first one is a psycho- literally. He kept on making his employe do all this work for him for a promotion, even drink an 18 year old scotch! The second is a Maneater, who tries to do things with her employee that she is not supposed to do, even when the employee is engaged. The third takes drugs, and makes out with people when the employees are working. He then tells the employee to "Trim the fat" or fire the fat people. Also to fire "Professor x" the guy in the wheel chair. So the 3 friends make a plan to kill their bosses with the help of "MF" Jones.

The movie "Horrible Bosses" was funny. But it still wasn't the funniest movie I have ever seen in my life. There were lots of "Laughs" but I wasn't killing myself laughing.

The plot was really well done. I thought that it was unperdictable, something that I haven't seen in a while. I wasen't able to guess what would happen in the end until it happened.

Although this movie was rated 14A, It was really dirty. I thought that it talked more about sexual content then Bridesmaids or The Hangover. Although it was dirty, that didn't make it funnier but it still was really funny. There were ALOT of uses of the f word and more bad words in it!

Overall, I would recommend it to an adult or teen audience. But my little brother saw it and he didn't really like it, but I still enjoyed it and would watch it again. B

The Tourist Review

The Tourist is a movie about a woman, named Elle who had a personal relationship with a criminal, named Alexander Pierce. Pierce sends her a letter to find a man that looks like him to trick the police into thinking that it is him.

The Tourist was exciting enough, but I found it kind of bland. It was more been there done that then anything and the plot was just so predictable. I was able to tell what would happen at the end from the beginning and there was no twists.

I found that Johnny Depp did an amazing performance- as always in this film. He is such a versatile actor.Jolie did a  good job as well.

I bared throughout the movie, but I wouldn't watch it again. But I would say that you might like  this movie if you like thrillers and around-the-world adventure type movies.

The Happening Review

So last week when I was sick, I watched the movie "The Happening", here is my review for it:

The movie "The Happening" is basically about an event that happened in North America. The first stage is lost human speech (eg stuttering words), the second stage is loss in human movement (The person can't move) and the third is... Suicide.

Ever since when I was sick, I have become a huge fan of M Night Shyamalan, and this is no exception. He may not be capable to win oscars, but he sure has established his own style of filmmaking.

The Happening delivers creepiness, action, mystery, romance & horror. It also delivers meaning. All of this Happened for a reason. The reason applies to our world too, not just theirs.

The plot, I thought was well done. Everything seemed to happen at a nice pace. It allowed us to think about the events and we would be introduced to the answers later.

Shyamalan, lacks in the elements of film needed to produce an oscar ( Cinematography, music, etc) but he still produced a film worth watching again. I disagree with the critics on this. I loved this film!

Smile Because Your The Deer In The Headlights. UPDATE!!

This week has been crazy! Swimming and working! But next week I will be more relaxed so I can write more. This summer is awesome! I have been jumping on my trampoline and I just finished trying to swim, but coming out because I was freezing cold (Im always cold). Now I just came inside and am going to write.

Whats a perfect album/artist for summer? My choice is Owl City. Owl City is so amazing. Some people complain about his songs being repetitive, but I highly disagree. Owl City-Adam, is one of those artist's that sees the world with different eyes. He talks about the hidden wonder in our lives and regards the world with optimism, something mosts artists don't do. Instead of saying bad things, like how much he hates something, he talks about the good parts. This is why he is the ultimate summer listen. Summer is Stress-free and happy. Thats why we listen to owl city!!

Now I will switch back to movies. Sadly, Zookeeper has been rated rotten. I was looking forwards to it too. But I don't relay on the reviews, I like to see it myself and then review it. Red Riding Hood got terrible reviews didn't it. But I loved it!

I have only seen partial bits and pieces of movies so far this summer because of thee busyness. But I will review "The Happening" tomorrow morning. '

My brother watched "Rise Of The Silver Surfer" this morning. Its a good movie. Really good plot & Ideas. I love marvel movies because you can relate to them more. Okay, Ill save that topic for another post!

M Night Shyamalan

So my favourite directors are: Steven Spielberg, Roland Emmerich, James Cameron, Darren Arnofsky & Clint Eastwood. Well thanks to my wonderful mother who sat there and nurtured me when I was sick, I was able to watch my very first M Night Shyamalan movie: The Happening.

This guy is brilliant! I loved his movies! (Although since I was so sick, I fell asleep during The Village, but I plan to watch it again). I watched The Happening & Devil, which he wrote. I am amazed. This guy is awesome. And Brilliant.

Okay, I know he may not be big in the Oscars, but got nominated, but he deserves a whole different category for his movies. The Happening had a meaning behind it and that felt so important, even though It got bad reviews.

I do admit, his films aren't for everyone, but they should be.  He just has such a unique style to his writing and directing. The reason why his movie " The Last Airbender" got such awful reviews was because it wasn't his usual work.

I will try to review his film "The Happening" soon. But I can't promise anything.

So I hope that when it is one of those movie nights, you will pick up a M Night movie and watch it!!

UPDATE.

I will be extremely and I mean EXTREMELY BUSY this week! I hate this cause I can't write that often at all!!! Im swimming-intensly swimming and doing something that involves my whole future!!! Bleh.

So anyway... I was able to grab some free time (Oh and my strep throat is gone) and write something. My future blog entry will be posted soon so for all those email recipients who are receiving this, I am better but busy. My updates will be short and simple.

I will update this so check out my blog now! Or it will email it to you. In a while.

Sunday, 3 July 2011

Its Sunday, July 3rd 2011

What I am going to say is for the bad news was that I was sick for the past 2 days. Well I still am sick. Now. The good news is when I was laying down, I was watching: MOVIES!! I watched: Couples Retreat, The Happening, Twilight & the tourist.  I will review them soon but right now I need to lie down. Ugh.
